Positive Job Market for IT Workers
For the last two or three years, the demand for IT jobs was weak — workers were either looking for something different or unemployed and looking for work, according to President and CEO of Dice Inc. Scott Melland.
Now, however, IT jobs are continuing to grow — and so are their salaries. And unlike during the years after the dot-com bust, when workers were looking for any kind of IT job, employers are now the ones recruiting them.
According to a recent salary survey, the average salary for a technology professional as of October 10 was $69,000, reflecting an increase of 2.8% since December 2004.
