ADP report says hiring increased in July, while EmploymentCrossing finds 63,000 jobs in one day.

Pasadena, CA  — The private payroll firm, Automatic Data Processing (ADP) reported that private nonfarm payrolls have increased by 42,000 in July, which means 42,000 new hires across the country. The report only counts private sector payrolls. The firm’s report comes ahead of the government’s own report on the job sector on Friday.

The modest job growth reported is unlikely to substantially reduce unemployment since the economy needs to create 100,000 jobs just to keep up with the natural increase in the labor force due to population growth. The ADP report also stated that the services sector added 63,000 jobs while the manufacturing sector lost 21,000 jobs.

The report does not include government employment figures. But the picture on that scene is unlikely to be bright since the temporary census workers are being let go at a rapid rate. 140,000 census workers where let go in June to July.

Speaking on the job outlook, A. Harrison Barnes says that the job outlook is improving. Barnes is the CEO of Employment Research Institute which runs the job aggregator website EmploymentCrossing. “Just yesterday our website was able to compile a list of over 63,000 jobs. That’s because we have software that looks up jobs from as many employer websites as possible, so we have a pretty good grasp on the jobs scenario.”

The job sectors with a high number of jobs as of August 4 on EmploymentCrossing where: healthcare (18,145), sales (6,759), various blue-collar jobs (4,688), and customer service (3,148).
