You can have many different experiences in your professional life. Some matters you can avoid, others you will enjoy, and there are the few you do not expect. As a worker you try to keep a good balance between your work and your relationships with your coworkers and boss. But what if your coworkers are incompetent? Most people just try harder to make sure the work still gets done. You gripe about their incompetence outside of the office, but to keep that balance you do not mention in the workplace. It, unconsciously, seems to be expected. Now, what do you do if your boss is incompetent? There is no sort of guarantee that you will have a good and active boss within your professional career. It is merely assumed. In order to keep balance and prepare yourself for any workplace situation, you need proper knowledge, judgment and skill to manipulate all situations for your benefit. If you work with an incompetent boss, then you must consider how serious this workplace issue can hinder your professional success; and then you must learn how to manage the situation for your benefit.

Managing At The Times When The Boss Is Incompetent
If you are unlucky, you will have a boss in your career that has not had the management experience required for his position. It is always difficult for employees to work with such a boss as well as reach for their career destination. It is more difficult for the boss to manage his employees On the other hand, employees can not develop professionally. These situations can have a negative impact on your career:

Bad Direction

Your boss lacks the knowledge to direct you properly to excel in your career. He is therefore nto doing his job. An incompetent boss does not allow you to learn about the important aspects of a management position: problem solving, business development, client relations, and employee development. Successful businesses thrive due to the fact that they excel in all of these aspects. Their executives have thorough knowledge of the business and they teach their employers how to excel as well. Incompetent bosses do not.

Bad Decision Regarding Your Career

Your incompetent boss has less understating about they business so they cannot offer you perfect advice regarding your career. You are losing in the situation. Working under an incompetent boss is more detrimental than beneficial. Your abilities are not growing. If you do not achieve professional growth at your job then it becomes harder to move forward.

Less Support

An incompetent boss is also less supportive; especially, if they feel that they are doing their job perfectly; and you think the contrary. This is a dangerous situation to be in. Rather than be demanding, be suggestive. If you feel that there are better ways to go about business, suggest them with finesse. Make them believe that you are helping and not manipulating. Getting into their good graces will give you the edge to excel within the company and improve the skills of your boss. They may not acknowledge you at first, but wait your time will come. Now if you do not take this route, your career will be short. One of three situations will occur: you will get fed up and leave or they will get fed up of you and fire you or you will stay and be miserable. Make your time there purposeful. Your boss is likely to be more supportive if you help. There are also books and online resources that talk about these types of situations. Read up and prepare yourself. You will happy you did. Good Luck!
