Minimum Wage Raise in 10 States
Ten states including Washington, Arizona and Missouri have revised the rates of the minimum wage workers, which may see some people earning as much as $500 more each year. The revision has been carried out to counter the rising levels of inflation and meet the Federal levels of minimum-wage requirements. As many as 970,000 workers will be directly or indirectly affected by this hike and experts reckon that increase in minimum wages is a significant step in combatting poverty levels. In 2013, at least 19 more states (along with the District of Columbia) are expected to adopt similar changes.
