Interview Dress Code

I\'ve been told by career centers that the appropriate attire for interviews includes a blue or white shirt, a full suit and closed toed shoes, however, I\'ve also heard that this is outdated advise. The reasoning behind not wearing suits is that employees can\'t see your creativity or individuality when you look like every other candidate. Which school of thought is correct in today\'s marketplace?

IMO selecting the proper atire for the job depends on the jobs formality. A job working on the production line building golf trollys does not merit a suit in fact a suit will give an impression you are too good for the job. A job interview for a London Bank without wearing black oxford brogues and carrying a copy of the financial times is bound to fail.A job working for an eco maniac company who make organic solar panels out of recycled fair-trade cfc-free cruelty-free car tyres without wearing a hemp shirt and a hash leaf necklace is similarly bound to fail. Aim your attire at the company and let common sense be your stylest.

It all depends on whether you are interviewing at a BAC (bigazz corporation) or in an industry where creativity is prized such as media, advertising and certain high types of high tech. The first, you do the suit and pumps thing, even if the entire office is business casual. You can go business casual after you get the job. The second, you have a lot more leeway.

It is important to look professional and sincere. One should dress themselves in a way that says "I will be a positive addition to your team. " It is important that you look respectable, so subtlety is key, It is OK to be flashy and out there to a degree. Nothing off putting. A good dark suit that fits well will always be a good option. Any job that requires you to work with people over 21 years old you can and probably should wear a suit and tie.

It is said that "You Are What You Wear!", especially when it comes to the job interview. Believe it or not, you are examined from head to toe in all interviews and hence dress code is utmost important for an interview.

I think it's important to look profesional but you do not need to wear a suit. You can simply wear a nice and appropriate dress and heels, or a skirt and a nice shirt.

It depends on what type of job you are interviewing for. Most jobs would want you to come in slacks or khakis with a polo or collared shirt. What I suggest you do is ask the person who's going to interview you (or the person who contacted you) what attire would be appropriate for their job interview.

You should take the company environment into account before going on a interview it would advantageous to do some research about the company and find out about company dress code if possible, business formal, business casual etc. I would recommend that for any job interview in the corporate world the dress code advise that were give is applicable. You should wear a stylish, subtle, well fitted suit and closed toed shoes

First of all it depends on the job description. Some jobs which demand creativity may require you to be dressed showing your individuality. However interviews in high profile places definitely require you to be dressed formally. If not with a full suit, definitely a white or pastel blue shirt with good pants make a neat impression. After all the first impression is the best impression.

Just dress in a manner that is appropriate for the job you are interviewing for. An example would be interviewing for a job with google you would want to wear a suit or close to it but if your interviewing for being a garbage truck driver you dont need anything that nice.
