Our client, a Fortune 500 company based in San Jose, CA is looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager
to take responsibility for planning, execution, and delivery of Data Center, Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco/Juniper and Security related (IS) projects on-time, within scope and on-budget. Projects will include both infrastructure and/or application projects (ranging from system upgrades to brand new implementations) aligned with the company’s overall business strategy.
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Location: San Jose, CA
Rate: Competitive.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, required). Project management certification from PMI (PMP), or equivalent certification from an accredited program, strongly preferred.
Minimum of eight years of experience in Infrastructure project management (telecom industry a plus).
This position will provide project management leadership for internal IT projects with a focus on Network Security, VOIP, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS), VPN, Network access control servers. M&A, Office Expansions, BCP/DR & IT Infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience with SDLC or other project-related methodology frameworks.
Must demonstrate solid experience managing project installations with the following technologies: SQL, ETL, Weblogic, UNIX and Oracle.
Demonstrated direct experience with workforce planning and resource management skills, including project estimation techniques.
Must have prior experience leading multi/cross-functional projects in a balanced matrix environment.
Work with Information Security teams to deploy security solutions and applications. Responsible for providing IT requirements (BDC, IDF, server room, etc), and monitor the implementation of the design through project completion
Experience with either data center migrations and/or outsourcing transition
Experience with Juniper (JUNOS) and Cisco (IOS) platforms.
Basic technical knowledge of key disciplines (Database, Citrix, VM, UNIX, DNS, TCP/IP, etc.)
Project manager for large transition projects working with system operations & off-shore resources
Understanding of Data Center LAN/WAN network operations and IP Network Bridging across WAN
Service Desk transition and Knowledge Transfer experience
ITIL Framework Familiarity
Ability to build relationships within a team, with peers, with senior management and with business partners.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, collaboration, and communication skills.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Project and full knowledge/experience using Microsoft office suite.
Able to adapt to changing environments and able to learn new concepts quickly.
