Account Manager, Client Sales
The Client Sales group utilizes effective commercial disciplines of a high performance sales organization to achieve aggressive revenue goals and objectives within the Independent Bank and Credit Unions segment. The Account Manager position requires a results driven individual to be part of the team, responsible for increasing net issuer revenue, volume and share growth and selling in the suite of MasterCard products, programs and services for the accounts they support, with a particular focus on protecting margins and profitability for Mastercard while helping to diversify our revenue streams.
Deliver issuer solutions to customers to enhance mutual profitability by developing financial models and business cases for identified opportunities and managing all aspects of the customer contract/agreement process to include communicating and consulting with customers regarding product, program and payment industry practices in order to realize our mutual value propositions.
Manage multiple customers, at multiple levels within each financial institution, and all sales and opportunity pipelines as part of a member relations team utilizing strong understanding of the credit, debit, commercial and prepaid issuer business model to generate profitable revenue growth.
Collaborate with customers to establish and execute annual planning and quarterly review sessions to establish, monitor and report progress against joint objectives.
Execute marketing strategies and sales targets for products/services sold against customers business objectives utilizing a strong understanding of payments strategies, issuer business models and MasterCards Sales Discipline Framework.
Analyze customer business opportunities to increase volume and/or their profitability by implementing long-term strategies and tactics designed to drive portfolio optimization.
Coordinate and integrate business development, advertising, marketing and product management activities with customers, prospects and internal Mastercard contacts to identify new business opportunities and product ideas.
Partner with internal sales, sales support teams , and customer and prospect contacts to uncover and deliver new products, programs and services to each, including a clearly articulated and delivered value proposition around MasterCards differentiated offerings to competitive conversion prospects.

Education and Skills:
Experience in financial services or a related field and product management and business development experience
Must be able to engage with all levels at each financial institution supported including but not limited to the C-suite, the Card Program/Portfolio Manager and various others (e.g. Marketing, Operations, etc.) on a wide range of topics related to their card program, their key business objectives and the market place and financial services industry in general.
Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Customer Relationship Management and be able to integrate knowledge across disciplines (i.e., marketing, operations, and risk)
Must be able to conduct portfolio reviews within each financial institution using multi-view and optimization tools and ensure alignment with objectives set out in long-term
Extensive product knowledge across all payment categories with superior market and industry knowledge.
Strong presentation skills along with strong analytical, finance, program development, and project management skills.
Exhibit a mastery of sales skills, including navigating past gatekeepers, creating interest at all levels of the prospect organization, and developing strategic business solutions for customers and prospects.
Travel to Purchase HQ 2-3 times per year.
