The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Scope of Position:

Provide administrative support to the Corning Glass Technologies Strategy, Industry Intelligence & Communications [SIIC] team leadership and department based in or traveling to the Corning Valley.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Calendar management for SIIC leadership team; assist with staff and department calendars as needed

• Concur expense report processing for SIIC leadership team and staff as needed

• Arrange domestic and international travel; process visas/passports; obtain/create invitation letters

• Administrative Safety Coordinator - track dept. safety training monthly using S.P.I.T.S. system

• Prepare typewritten material/presentations as required (Ex.: Staff Mtg./Dept. Mtg. agendas; compile Pd. Reports)

• Filing; sort and deliver daily mail

• Prepare interview agendas; new employee orientation materials; request IT services for phone/computer

• Track department IP documentation (Patents, IDs, R-L Reports)

• Create/control highly proprietary/restricted/confidential documentation

• Coordinate customer visits

• Coordinate office moves

• Maintain department organization charts - monthly

• Maintain contact lists (phone, dept./global)

• Maintain assigned hallway bulletin board

• Coordinate department events/activities (Staff & Dept. Mtgs., Summer Event, Holiday Event, Recognition, D.A.R.M., etc.)

• Work closely with other administrative teams relevant to role (CGT / AGI / HPD / HR / CSM)

• Maintain printers/copiers in service center in PRC bldg. area

• Ability to create and maintain good interface relationships with people at all organizational levels

• Work effectively as an individual, as well as a team player

• Manage purchase orders (POs) supporting SIIC team actions

Job Requirements:

Travel Requirements:

• Limited travel (no more than 5%) within the Corning Valley for meetings and events

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

• 8:00-5:00 w/ flexibility

Required Education and Years of Experience:

• 5 years previous experience as an administrative aide

• Ability to work with an organization of 50-100 employees

Required Skills:

• MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Concur System

• PeopleSoft Order Management efficiency (e-Procurement)

• Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

• Organizational skills; detail oriented; able to multitask and prioritize tasks; execute and follow-up

• Demonstrate experience in solving both routine and unusual office problems

• Knowledge of phone system, conf. rm. setup for computer/teleconference/videoconference, Internet Explorer

• Professional, flexible, courteous, excellent work ethic

• Team player

• Prior experience with Corning Incorporated
