Contract/Contract to perm/FTE role with work based out of San Jose or mid-west locations
Is your coaching preference to work with individuals and teams on their process — improving their success as a team and their effectiveness with Agile and Scrum? SolutionsIQ, a leading provider of Agile consulting, training, and distributed Agile software development, is looking for Agile Coaches.
We are working with a client based in San Jose who initiating a large-scale rollout of Agile training and coaching for teams located in six cities nationwide. SolutionsIQ is partnered with our client to assist in their organization’s Agile transformation. We are looking for Agile Coaches with training experience, preferably classroom training in Scrum Master, Product Owner and/or general Agile. Initially you will be providing group training in these topics (and potentially others related to Agile teams) with the engagement evolving into more of a Coaching role after the initial training. CST is not required.
Responsibilities:
This position offers opportunities to travel, work with a variety of teams, experience full-time Agile projects, and to learn from leaders in the Agile community. Candidates must be excellent listeners, possess outstanding facilitation and conflict-resolutions skills, and the ability to work in collaborative environments. The candidate will be selected based on their ability to function as a consultant, trainer, and coach.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
At least 2 years of experience as an Agile Coach with group training experience
Must be a Certified Scrum Master with 5 years of project management experience and 2 years of Scrum Master experience
Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and of several software development methodologies
Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
Facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.
Ability to understand technical issues
Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
Ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their highest potential
Collaborative approach to decision-making on teams
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
Ability to travel 50-100%, depending on your location
Additional Skills Desired:
Experienced Software Developer or Software Tester, especially in an Agile environment
Experience with Extreme Programming (XP), Lean Software Development and other Agile methodologies is a plus
Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills.
Experience conducting stand-up training
Experience developing training materials
Experience leading organizational change management
Experience developing and growing business with new and existing accounts in a deliberate and strategic manner.
Experience designing and deploying methodologies in many types of organizations
Personal Characteristics:
A predisposition to patience and tolerance.
Must be comfortable and articulate in challenging change management scenarios, knowing when to insert self and when to fade back.
Must be extraordinarily articulate, persuasive, and comfortable interacting with all levels of customers, from line developer to C/VP level.
Effective and collaborative team member.
