The individual chosen will work directly for the Vice President, Technology Services & Solutions, handling a wide variety of projects and tasks.
The qualified Application Developer will be responsible for developing and facilitating the integration of mission critical materials for enterprise clients via Web Portals. S/He will be responsible for requirement(s) gathering, system design, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, training, implementation, support and post-delivery enhancements in a fast paced team environment. The development role requires acute decision making skills in a government environment and effective documentation and communication on a daily basis. The identified professional will have strong software development knowledge and subject matter expertise with topics such as Web-driven application design and enterprise integration, relational database design, application architecture, security design and software development methodologies and processes. This position is a temproray position (60 Days) with the potential for future relationship.
Roles and Responsibilities
Application development, refinement and integration
Understand client business and technical requirements and then deliver appropriate end-to-end solutions consisting of component-based, services-oriented applications developed using various web frameworks and complementary Microsoft technologies
Development and delivery of e-learning solutions by designing, implementing and managing content
Serves as interface between users and technical staff; users may included military, government, foreign language instructors and other non-technical personnel
Provide training and customer support for web based products
Documents existing systems, processes and policies
Gathers, imports and populates supporting meta-data for faculty and staff
Requirements
Software development expertise for creating Web-driven application and enterprise integration, relational database design, application architecture, security design and software development methodologies and processes.
3 years Application Development
2 years in at least 3 of the following technologies; C#, ASP.Net, JavaScript, WebServices, MSSQL
Proficient with HTML coding, JavaScript, PHP, XML, CSS
Experience in two or more Microsoft development languages, including ASP.Net, C#, Visual Basic, standard SQL development, AJAX Library and ASP.NET AJAX control toolkit, ASP.net Web services and script services (asmx, wcf
Possess deep knowledge and experience of web application architecture. Candidate must be able to show portfolio of web based product development experience
High level understanding of network communication protocols
Extensive experience with Microsoft’s Visual Studio Suite 2008/2010
Experience with MS SQL Server 2008
Experience with database access methods (ADO, ODBC, etc.)
Experience using SW profiling and optimization tools
Experience in design and analysis; project planning
Ability to work on several simultaneous projects, reacting constructively to new and changing business and technology requirements and deliverables
Ability and experience working in an Agile/SCRUM based development environment
High level of self motivation, productivity and attention to detail; be well-organized; have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking ability
Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving
Ability to obtain a government security clearance
Ability to work in a team and provide training to staff and faculty
Ability to read, write and speak English
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer related field
Preferred:
Experience with Entity Framework
