Assistant Dean, International Initiatives

Duties: Report to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Initiatives. Will be responsible for overseeing the successful development and implementation of the Law's School international initiatives and global outreach efforts. Will work to establish partnerships with international universities and organizations, and conceptualize and implement a communication strategy for effectively marketing the Law School's international portfolio. Will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and organizing conferences, symposia, lecture series, research projects, and occasional events for international audiences covering topics of global interest. Conceptualize and oversee the program development of: U.S. based educational opportunities for international students. Overseas and distance-technology educational opportunities for international students. International study and work opportunities for U.S. students. Work with the Dean, Senior Associate Dean, and current international program Directors to develop partnerships with international universities and organizations. Keep abreast of initiatives and potential developments undertaken by other leading law schools in the international law fields, thus enhancing the prospects for proactive and strategic thinking. Enhance global presence through regular travel and interaction with international constituencies. Conceptualize, plan, and organize conferences, symposia, lecture series, research projects, and occasional events for international audiences or covering topics of global interest. Promote and market events by developing web sites, brochures, and other relevant materials, and through the use of social media. Lead the efforts to raise the international profile of the Law School. Work with other departments ' including alumni relations, admissions, and marketing/communications ' to strategize and prioritize goals, especially as they relate to the Law School's strategic plan. Develop and implement a communication strategy for effectively marketing the Law School's international portfolio with the goal of increasing our profile and reputation in this area. Work with International Visiting Faculty to facilitate their integration into the law faculty and determine major initiatives in international law launched by international and foreign organizations, as well as by other law schools. Keep the faculty informed about such initiatives. Oversee the visiting scholars program. Oversee efforts to conduct market research on programs for international students. Collaborate with other Law School program areas to ensure effective coordination of international initiatives and administration of programs.
