Assistant Director, Student Recreation and Wellness Facilities

Duties: Provide management and oversight for the Student Recreation and Wellness Center facilities and operations. Responsibilities include, developing and implementing policies and procedures for the facility, ensuring facility compliance with departmental and university policies as well as fire/life/occupational safety, security and risk management requirements, monitoring daily operations to ensure safe, clean, well-maintained facilities are provided to users, coordinating an effective maintenance work order system and managing facility improvement projects, developing emergency preparedness plan and providing training to prepare occupants for emergency situations, maintaining accurate facility and equipment inventory and administering replacement program as budget permits, managing operations and staffing budgets including projecting operational needs, approving purchases, and monitoring spending, coordinating and monitoring facility use in supporting Student Union and Event Services, formal programs, informal student interaction and rental groups, serving as operational liaison for all occupants of the Student Recreational and Wellness Center, providing 24/7 emergency on-call response. Responsible for the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator for Memberships and Front Desk Operations which supervises 1 graduate assistant and 80 student staff. Supervises 1 custodial supervisor and indirectly supervises 11 - 13 building custodians. Supervises graduate assistant for facilities. Staffing responsibilities include hiring, training, evaluation and daily supervision. Work nights and weekends as needed and making recommendations to the Director for policy and procedure implementation. Observe and resolve risk management and safety issues and provide 24/7 emergency on-call response as necessary. On call response within 30 minutes. Some evening and weekend work required.
