Assistant Professor Paralegal
The candidate will maintain American Bar Association approval for the paralegal program. Will maintain all student, faculty, financial and other records necessary to prepare the two requisite reports required of the ABA. Recruit and evaluate adjunct faculty to teach all paralegal courses. Recruit and evaluate adjunct faculty to teach the business law classes, BUS 107 and BUS 108. Develop and maintain assessment rubrics for BUS 107 and BUS 108 as well as all paralegal courses. Develop and maintain paralegal program curriculum. Prepare the schedule of paralegal and business law courses to be offered each semester. Assign instructors for each of the courses. Maintain course outlines for each of the ten paralegal courses and two business law courses. Prepare bookstore orders for the selected texts. Recruit members for the paralegal advisory commission. Schedule and conduct a meeting of the advisory commission each semester. Maintain minutes of the advisory commission meetings to satisfy the reporting requirements of the ABA. Schedule a meeting of the paralegal adjunct faculty each semester. Provide on-going instruction to adjunct faculty at each meeting. Maintain minutes and meeting records to satisfy ABA requirements. Maintain paralegal student records including post graduate contact and employment records necessary to satisfy ABA requirements. Develop and maintain contacts throughout the Mercer County legal profession to assist students in finding internships and employment. Assist in the recruitment and retention of students for the paralegal program. Provide academic counseling for students enrolled in the paralegal program. Serve on college committees as assigned. Law degree from an accredited law school and experience in working with and supervising paralegals is needed.
