Position: Backup Storage Architect
Summary
Optimos is seeking a Backup Storage Architect to support efforts with our customer in College Park, MD. The selected candidate will contribute to providing a comprehensive infrastructure assessment and developing a detailed design, migration and implementation plan for a technology refresh of a Production environment.
Essential roles and responsibilities
The Storage Architect will be responsible for assess, evaluate and develop in-depth storage solution to meet the customer request. He/she will also provide a detailed design and implementation plan of enterprise-class storage systems. The selected candidate should have a deep knowledge of current storage practices relating to virtualization (VMware).
• Conduct infrastructure assessment (20%)
• Perform Data Collection and Analysis (20%)
• Develop detailed SAN/NAS design (40)
• Develop Migration and implementation Plan (20%)
Required experience and qualifications
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
• Five or more years’ experience in Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations Planning
• Five or more years’ experience building complex end to end solutions using multi-vendor hardware/software
• Five or more years’ experience with IBM, NetApp and Hitachi, Quantum and ADIC Tapes storage platforms
• Five years’ experience developing technical documentation of IT system environments
• Five or more years’ hands-on experience with NetApps and Brocade equipment
Preferred experience
• Experience with backup solution in a FISMA compliant environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
