The Brand Manager will be responsible for cross-functional team leadership of a category-leading foodservice/food ingredient brand. This position will develop brand/product line strategy and growth objectives and annual marketing plans to meet them.
The role encompasses work across multiple elements of the marketing mix, including pricing, packaging, promotions, in-market activation, online activity, new product launches, existing product improvements and productivity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the Commercial annual planning process
Develop, gain alignment and implement strategic direction for brand/product line responsible
Develop and lead execution of brand/product line plans (new products, research, channel promotions, sales materials, PR, social media, digital, etc.)
Lead and implement brand segmentation and positioning
Act as key point of contact with creative agency partners
Actively monitor and evaluate metrics associated with brand/product line performance (lbs shipped, market share, velocity, distribution, etc.)
Provide fiscal oversight of marketing budget
Attend customer/sales calls as needed
Develop and leverage a working knowledge of the industry, category and competitors
Travel up to 20%
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA strongly preferred
3-5 years’ experience in consumer packaged goods, and/or foodservice marketing, including development of marketing strategy and creation, execution and analysis of brand plans.
Experience managing budgets and cross-functional team projects.
Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
Clear and compelling communication and presentation skills.
Sound analytical skills with ability to develop & execute recommendations based on findings.
Ability to efficiently and effectively drive projects forward by leveraging cross-functional teams.
Ability to work across the organization across functions and levels.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint; Experience with Nielsen or IRI databases.
