Overview
The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for being the liaison between Product Managers and the Technology team. The Business Analyst works with Product Managers, business owners, and others to understand market opportunities, customer needs, and product issues and to translate those into clear requirements for the Development and Quality Assurance teams. The Business Analyst will be well versed in the current state of the Web and the underlying technology and trends that are driving innovation.

Responsibilities
Work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to understand market opportunities, business objectives, and success metrics.
Identify and recommend opportunities for product improvement and work with Product Managers to understand the implications of changes.
Gather and translate customer and user needs into business requirements that inform the wireframe and design process.
Perform product process modeling through interviews, documentation review, observation and flow-diagramming.
Create high-quality functional requirements documents for use by the Development and Quality Assurance teams, and ensure that those teams fully understand the product problem to be solved; serve as the subject matter expert for the products you work on.
Work with the Development and Quality Assurance teams during the testing phase to ensure that the delivered projects meet the product requirements.
Work with the Customer Service team to ensure they understand your projects and are prepared to respond appropriately to customer and user inquiries; assist in resolving customer issues as necessary.
Support continuous improvement of the product development process to ensure the quality, consistency and timeliness of project delivery.
Utilize strong project management skills, including, as applicable, preparing project plans, meeting agendas, meeting follow-up and decision documentation, and keep stakeholders informed on status of projects, accomplishments, and issues in a timely fashion; develop action plans to resolve delays or problems and meet deadlines.
Implement projects within agreed upon timelines while ensuring that they meet stated goals.
Perform the analysis and requirement gathering efforts for multiple concurrent projects; investigate creative alternatives to satisfy product alternatives.
Ensure critical requests are handled with a quick, cost effective approach and provide creative solutions that meet the needs of the business.
Assist Product Managers and other stakeholders with problem analysis and problem resolution, as well as field data and software related questions.
Work closely with the Web Analytics Manager to ensure proper tracking is in place for all projects; analyze data, identify opportunities, and make recommendations to assist in business decision making or on-going monitoring of business issues.
Requirements
Professional experience collaborating in a team environment on Web site development projects; experience in at least two of the following areas, e-commerce, mobile, social media, and online advertising, is required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, information architecture, and user experience considerations typically found in a Web-based environment.
Must have working knowledge of Web analytics and reporting software and high level of proficiency with typical office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Snag It, etc.); experience with Photoshop and data access/SQL a plus.
Proven successful track record of working with internal and external customers to understand their needs and translate those needs into specific, actionable, functional and non-functional requirements.
Ability to visualize desktop and mobile internet based design solutions and lead or participate in a collaborative team process to create solutions that meet business and consumer needs.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and take input across all levels of the organization and remove roadblocks through creative problem solving, negotiation or conflict management skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; talks and acts with customers in mind.
Aptitude for technology; broad understanding of the Web, dynamic data-driven Web sites and associated technologies.
Creative, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of quality and service orientation.
The desire to search out and identify areas for efficiency and improvement.
Disciplined time manager with strong ability to determine and manage priorities and sound judgment to identify issues, troubleshoot, and escalate when appropriate.
A high attention to detail but also the ability to visualize the big picture.
