Profile

The Business Analyst will join a project team to implement a financial management system for the client. This project will be implemented in multiple phases. The successful candidate will join the early stages of an implementation and will be immediately focused on reviewing client requirements, current business processes and developing the future business processes and system designs. The Business Analyst must have the ability to assist in the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives based on user needs and an understanding of financial processes.

Project Responsibilities

Business Requirements
1. Analyzing business requirements to determine functional solutions
2. Identifying functional issue resolutions and providing functional support to the project team
3. Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of Financial Management areas including Accounts Payable, Budget Development and Control, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Travel Accounting, and Accounts Receivable
4. Demonstrate analytical and requirements gathering skills
5. Demonstrate ability to translate the business case analysis and client requirements into design documents
6. Providing requirements definition, business process analysis, fit/gap analysis, process design and implementation, functional design, implementation and validation
7. Understand lifecycle of system implementation practices
8. Translate use cases into business scenarios and test scripts, conduct tests and verify test results
9. Develop user and system documentation for Financial Management system implementation
10. Providing strong business knowledge to ensure efficient design, and implementation

Task Management
11. Understand work plan activities, and provide accurate status reports on work completion
12. Estimate task time requirements and plan accordingly
13. Understand and work within task scope
14. Prioritize tasks
15. Identify and communicate issues in a timely manner

Meetings
16. Demonstrate ability to coordinate and lead peer review sessions on tasks such as the review of functional solutions and design documents
17. Attend and contribute to client meetings

Deliverables Management
18. Author and review design documents and other functional project deliverables
19. Comply with project documentation standards

The successful candidate must have at least a bachelors degree with a concentration in business administration. Preference provided to candidates with prior business analysis and ERP system implementation experience.

Essential Skills
Knowledge of Financial Management including Accounts Payable, Budget Development and Control, General Ledger, Travel Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Accounts Receivable

Strong analytical and requirement gathering skills

Ability to effectively interface with the client, end-users and other analysts

Ability to productively work with minimal supervision

Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to complete tasks within established timeframes with high quality results

Nonessential Skills Desired

Experience with ERP system implementations
