The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties as the Business Intelligence Developer person in the BI project team responsible for developing Reports and views using the BI tools and also testing and training in the BI environment.
Help perform capacity planning required to create and maintain cubes in the BI environment.
Perform ongoing tuning and performance monitoring of views and reports in the BI environment.
Control migrations of changes through the development life cycle. (Change control)
Implement and enforce security for the BI environment.
Provide technical support to application development teams.
Ensure the integrity of the data in the BI environment.
Help administer scheduled jobs for the building of dashboards, cubes and reports.
Assist the DBA with any performance problems dealing with reports using the data warehouse.
Troubleshoot problems in regards to the cubes, views, dashboards or reports using the development tools.
Assist in the design, construct and schedule the creations of cubes.
Participate in design meetings for data requirements for data modeling in the BI environment.
Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
Assist his/her manager to estimate projects or System Change Request requests as required.
Report the progress of assigned projects to his/her manager and fulfill departmental administrative reporting requirements.
Communicate with all levels of management and user areas in a professional manner.
Mentor less senior members of the Applications teams.
--- Recommend and adhere to changes to I.S. Database standards.
--- Monitor the performance of reports and views in the BI area of responsibility.
--- Work with application programmers using the databases in their applications.
--- Assist on special projects as assigned.
--- Good attitude and work ethics that will influence subordinates and peers to ensure a high standard of performance.
Proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, Data Modeling, MDX, supporting production databases. Some knowledge of development languages (VB script, Microsoft.Net, Java, Java Script). Knowledge of Congas Framework Manager, Congas Transformer, Congas Analysis Studio & Congas Report Studio
