Primary Purpose of Position:
Utilize Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software to provide organizational support to Property Management, Construction, Leasing and Development groups by organizing and cataloguing a virtual and hard copy inventory of drawings. The position reports to and is part of the Construction Management group
Responsible for structuring and maintaining an organized filing system for drawings, both virtual and hard copy. Manage drawing files in respective building plan rooms.
Utilize AutoDesk’s AutoCad Viewer, Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD BIM, and Bluebeam Revu software to review, reformat, and/or rename drawing files.
Convert virtual .dwg drawing formats to .pdf version drawings and explode or publish .pdf version drawings to .dwg drawing formats.
Communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively to non-technical end users of files and documents.
Answer inquiries from non-technical users by interpreting information shown on drawings and related documents.
Respond to Property Management, Construction, Leasing and Development groups’drawing requests as it pertains to filing, reformatting and retrieving project’s drawings and documents.
Support Construction, Leasing and Development groups by preparing respective tenant leasable space exhibits.
Understand how to prioritize tasks while also being able to efficiently accomplish deliverable deadlines.
Verify at properties the accuracy of stored documents with field visits and in consultation with design architects.
Create “record” drawings of space to set standard and track tenant changes then send for review and approval.
Confirm and track Record Documents are submitted in the proper format during the Close-Out process with the Construction Manager and document timeline. Transmit Record Documents to Tenant/Tenant Architect as necessary.
Provide administrative support as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
An Associate’s or four year-degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design required, or in a field related to Design, Architecture or Engineering.
A minimum of 2 to 4 years of related experience working with AutoCad and ArchiCad software is required.
Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering and construction terminology required.
Attention to detail is critical.
Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously is required.
Strong organizational skills with capability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Determine needs and achieve results without close supervision.
Ability to effectively interface with all departments of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner.
Proficiency with PC Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Involves work of a general office nature usually performed sitting such as operation of a computer.
Involves work of a general office nature usually performed standing such as filing, photocopying and faxing, etc.
Involves movement between departments and sometimes office building floors to facilitate work.
Must be able to traverse projects on a daily basis including climbing ladders and stairs on the construction site.
Involves occasional lifting and moving of construction drawings/plans, finish samples etc.
Lifting is necessary and generally requires lifting and moving plans and/or boxes generally weighing 20-30 lbs.
