Job Description :
Lockheed Martin (LM) is seeking a Chief Engineer for the Advanced Energy Generation (AEG) market segment within LM Energy Line of Business (LoB) within the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business area. Reports to LM Energy LoB chief engineer and supports the Advanced Energy Generation program area director. Responsibilities include:
Provides engineering leadership for a portfolio of products and technologies that includes utility-scale renewable energy (bioenergy, waste to energy and ocean power).
Drives innovation and the development and implementation of disruptive technologies.
Manages technical staffing and performance for ongoing programs and projects.
Oversees and reviews proposals and related capture efforts.
Oversees development of AEG technology fulfilment plan and related investment planning to support strategy development and execution. This includes overseeing planning and execution of AEG IRAD and capital projects.
Manages the planning, design, engineering, manpower estimating, construction support, and commissioning (testing) of EPC projects for Renewable Energy pursuits, including biomass-to-liquid/biomass-to-power projects and ocean energy projects.
Coordinates team in developing design criteria and preparing layout, detail drawings and all construction deliverables.
Supports Business Development is assessment of potential pursuits, providing information on estimated plant performance, economics, space requirements, and schedule.
Reviews estimates for design costs and estimates for equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
Demonstrated experience hiring and managing chief engineers and technical staff
Strong leadership and communications skills - capable to engage and communicate effectively with LoB and business area executive staff
Previous design engineering management and / or construction support experience
Previous experience with design of power projects and / or petrochemical projects
Proven budget management experience
Proven schedule development and implementation experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage change, identify issues, work with stakeholders to develop solutions
Demonstrated ability as team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with multiple customers
Experience with BioEnergy and/or Ocean Energy projects
Span of experience from conceptual engineering, detailed engineering thru construction, start-up, and commissioning
Previous experience as an Architectural/Engineering (A/E) contractor in any of the following areas: Civil/Structural, Chemical / Process, Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC, Equipment and Piping Expertise), or Control Systems
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in any of the following areas: Civil/Structural, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems
