Duties: Represents the University in a broad range of complex matters, advising the President, senior administrators, faculty and staff members with respect to federal and state laws, policies of the Board of Regents, and institutional statutes and policies related to the operation of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. Handle contracts, discrimination, conflicts of interest, student affairs, intellectual property, personnel and employment concerns and academic freedom. Supports the mission of the University through provision of timely, accurate and concise legal advice to minimize exposure to risk, ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and to assist the senior leadership achieve strategic goals – helping to lead the University today and in the future. Reviews, researches, interprets and provides advice on a wide variety of legal issues to the President, senior leadership and other members of the campus community as requested. Drafts and reviews contracts, MOUs, leases and other documents as well as leads review, evaluation, and changes to institutional and departmental policies. Provides training to the campus community on various legal issues through seminars and meetings. Maintains professional growth and development through all appropriate means including workshops, seminars, the state and local Bar and other professional associations to remain informed of the latest developments in higher education law. Participates on a variety of campus and system level committees. Performs duties as required as a member of the President’s Cabinet. Performs other duties as assigned.
