Comprehensive Health Management
The Communications Lead is responsible for providing coordinated communications in an on-site residential facility. This position is responsible for fielding, routing and following up on internal and external calls or other communications to ensure proper and efficient communication with all evacuees, staff and partners in a timely response. Reports to the Operations Officer.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.
This position is for the night shift, 6PM - 6:30AM
Comprehensive Health Services Inc. (CHSi) is assisting in the humanitarian crisis caused by Hurricane Harvey by supporting a disaster relief shelter in Port Arthur, TX. This shelter will house a large number of evacuees who have been displaced by Hurricane Harvey and subsequent flooding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides timely and accurate communication and messaging to evacuees and staff through multiple messaging outlets
Communicates frequently with other shelter site departments and support staff regarding pertinent information about residents
Monitors all radio transmissions regarding CHSi and site partners
Participates in ongoing meetings, conferences, training programs as required
Helps coordinate on-site community meetings, understands group dynamics, promotes and maintains a positive peer group culture
Provides coverage for assigned staff
Responsible for adhering to all CHSi, FEMA regulations; & other applicable regulations
Associates Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
1 year experience in public speaking and/or presentations
1 year experience in marketing, communications, broadcasting
Clean criminal background check
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required
Immediate, last-minute travel within the U.S. may be required if located outside of shelter location
This is a night shift position with working hours from 6:00pm to 6:30am
Flexibility is required due to potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities
Bi-lingual skills are preferred (English/Spanish)
May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs
Visual acuity required to complete paperwork and computer work
Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, and winds)
