Job Description
The Benefits Analyst will administer Health, Dental, Life and Disability, 401K, and other benefit programs and will ensure policy and statutory compliance within established budgets. The Benefits Analyst will assist in benefits design, vendor management, and development and implementation of benefits program strategy.
o Manage the ongoing administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, life, disability, COBRA, workers compensation, leave of absence and other programs
o Administer employee leave programs including short-term and long-term disability, FMLA, and all other leaves
o Respond to and resolve employee inquiries relating to enrollment, claims and related issues for the US and Canada
o Ensure US and Canadian programs are administered in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
o Produce the quarterly 401k participation results for EVP of HR dashboard
o Assist with the annual 401k audit, non-discrimination testing and 5500 filing
o Assist in identifying, planning, and developing methods and procedures to obtain greater benefits administration efficiency
o Produce self billings for the life and disability programs
o Assist with the management of Workers Compensation claims including the coordination with HR Business Partners and legal
o Partner with Safety on the facilitation of work station accommodations
o Conduct domestic benefits enrollment
o Monitor and process Canadian benefits enrollments
o Assists in preparing employee communications materials for the various programs and especially during annual open enrollment
o Review and audit benefits invoices
o Manage the approvals for US and Canadian monthly premiums and produce a monthly tracking/summary sheet for finance
o Assist with all facets of the annual open enrollment process
o Participate in the design and implementation of competitive benefit program offerings for delivery during annual open enrollment.

Job Requirements o Prior experience with US and Canadian benefits program management
o Solid understanding of benefit plan principles, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA and other regulations related to benefits
o At least 7 years experience in benefits administration
o Prior experience with self-insured medical plans and wellness programs preferred
o Bachelor's degree in related field
o PHR and/or CEBS certification or progress toward certification preferred
o Prior knowledge of and experience with human resources principles, practices and legal requirements
o Must be professional, detail oriented and high attention to accuracy
o Excellent verbal and written skills and self motivated
o Must be customer service oriented
o Strong organizational skills with excellent follow through
o Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast paced environment
o Able to assess costs, benefits, and risks of a decision while using sound logic to ultimately make well-informed decisions
o Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
o Professional and technical benefits knowledge
o Well developed time management skills
o Strong math/analytical skills
o Ability to understand, analyze and explain benefit costs
o Ability to work independently and produce high quality results
o Proficient in HRIS systems (PeopleSoft and/or SAP preferred)
