Best in class reporting would include informative, accurate, reliable and timely financial information that can be used by management to make sound financial decisions; for analysts to assess the Firm's financial position; investors to make informed decisions and regulators to supervise and examine us appropriately. Our goal is to continuously improve the reporting process through enhancements to the control environment and to improve the operating model.Roles and Responsibilities:This role in CFR's Legal Entity Control group provides a unique opportunity to interact with multiple lines of business and Corporate functions while learning legal entity controllership end to end.\u00a0 We are looking for a strong accountant able to understand all aspects of legal entity accounting and controls. A key area of focus will be on compliance with the JPMC Legal Entity Standards and implementing procedures to comply with those requirements. The individual will also be responsible for developing the processes, controls and efficiency around the Legal Entity Controller agenda for CFR.\u00a0Additionally, this role requires the individual to perform the following duties:\u00a0
Equity \u2013 Ensure that the Parent company\u2019s equity equals the Consolidated Firm\u2019s equity and that P/L and OCI roll up correctly in the Consolidated Firm. \u00a0\u00a0Record treasury stock repurchases, changes in common or preferred stock, exercise of warrants.\u00a0 Prepare bi-weekly confirmation of shares with the Office of the Secretary.\u00a0 Dividend accruals.
Investment in Subsidiaries \u2013 Record dividends, return of capital and capital infusions.\u00a0 Reconcile the parent\u2019s investment to the subsidiary\u2019s capital each month and investigate breaks.
General ledger balance reconciliation and substantiation \u2013 Complete reconciliation and substantiation of numerous corporate general ledger accounts.\u00a0
Financial Statement preparation \u2013 Prepare monthly internal financial statements with supplemental disclosures.
Federal Reserve Reporting- Interpret and define regulatory requirements. Preparation of the FRY9LP, 23A reporting , TIC reports and submissions for the FRY14 and FRY15.
SEC reporting and Sarbanes Oxley compliance \u2013 Prepare the Statement of Changes in Stockholders\u2019 Equity and Comprehensive Income and various footnotes for the 10K and 10Q.\u00a0 Responsible for the share disclosure for preferred stock, common stock, RSU Trust and Treasury Stock in the 10K and 10Q. Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley and internal control and documentation standards.
Systems used include BPC, SAP, CDGL, GLRS (ART), TLM
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required (CPA or MBA preferred, but not required)
3-5 years financial accounting experience
Proven ability to interface with various levels of management
Experience with automated financial application systems, database, and worksheet tools
Strong business acumen - including process implementation and ownership
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
Strong organizational skills, sense of urgency and attention to details
