This position is the primary contact to assigned customer(s) for the Newell Brands Division supply chain and is accountable for delivering industry leading supply chain results that the customer values and rewards. He/she will focus on:
Identifying, prioritizing and driving strategic supply chain initiatives across the total value chain based upon customer and Division needs
Ensuring all customer demand is accurately forecasted to support the customer service levels and event/promotion activity
Managing customer system setting, event management, seasonal stocking strategies, execution of new and discontinued items and other activities to improve key performance indicators including, but not limited to, customer in-stock percentage, fill rate, forecast accuracy and order-to-delivery lead time
Driving continuous improvements across the order-to-delivery cycle meeting both customer defined performance metrics and Division needs
Build and maintain effective relationships with supply chain counterparts at the assigned customer account(s).
Lead the collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) and/or vendor managed inventory (VMI) processes with the customer(s) and input forecast and event requirements into the Demand Plan.
Collaborate with sales account leadership to support annual operating plans and provide monthly, quarterly and annual financial forecasts into the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
Provide actionable and value added analysis regarding order recommendations to decrease out of stocks.
Develop and execute a strategic plan to reduce costs, grow revenue and develop customer intimacy aligned with business needs and priorities.
Contribute to the success of the overall business by representing customer supply chain interests in cross-functional project teams, representing Newell in communications with customer regarding changes to mutual business processes and balancing customer-specific needs while supporting the greater good of the organization.
Deliver industry leading results through proactive cross-functional planning, project management processes, a well-developed process of daily results management, utilization of customer scorecards and root cause problem solving/corrective action processes. Key metrics include: forecast accuracy, in-stock levels, inventory turns, on time and complete shipment attainment, plan-o-gram execution, seasonal promotional execution, supply chain fines and demand variability reduction.
Operate as a strategic thought leader/change agent working collaboratively with the sales team supporting the customer account.
Serve as the subject matter expert for the Newell-customer supply chains influencing business decisions and practices that deliver optimal business results across the joint supply chain. Aligning internal resources including, but not limited to, customer team leader, supply chain planning, transportation and other internal teams to deliver superior supply chain results and achieve customer sales and financial goals
Provide leadership and guidance for an extended team of Customer Service and other logistics resources focused on supporting the assigned customer(s).
Contribute to the success of the overall business by representing supply chain interests in cross-functional project teams to implement changes to business processes
Mentors and trains team members on systems and processes as well as trading partners and groups in other business units or departments
Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes constructive suggestions for change and drive for results
Monitors industry trends, best practices, and regulatory issues as they relate to specific area(s) of responsibility and shares learnings, as appropriate, with direct reports and peers.
