Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADVS) is currently seeking a highly motivated DBA at our Black Diamond office in Jacksonville. Black Diamond Performance Reporting™ provides solutions for the wealth management process. The core product retrieves and reconciles investment accounting data and provides a feature rich, Internet-based application to analyze performance.
Black Diamond Performance Reporting™ helps wealth managers and their clients by providing unbiased, outsourced investment performance reporting. The Database Administrator is responsible for overseeing the management of the MS SQL Server environment underlying Black Diamond's SaaS application stack. This position will help define and implement scalable database management standards and participate in new and sustaining operations projects providing to the design and development of high availability database architectures.
This position is based in Jacksonville, Florida. Relocation assistance is available
Job Responsibilities
Design, implement and support MS SQL Server databases underlying Advent / Black Diamond’s enterprise business applications.
Responsible for database architecture, performance, backup and recovery, standards, availability, integrity, security, replication and data access.
Maintain expertise in MS SQL Server DBMS, logical and physical database design best practices. Manage monitoring / capacity management processes to ensure appropriate scale of growth.
Manage and resolve technical issues related to the implementation of MS SQL Server (software releases, patch management, tools, and capacity planning, backup and recovery strategies).
Provide database technical leadership / training and hands on database administration supporting the application development teams throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects.
Provide feedback to the design of logical and physical data models and the application code to ensure optimal performance of the system as applicable.
Provide support for Advent / Black Diamond’s business systems to maintain the availability and integrity of data during and outside of normal working hours.
Maintain Advent’s internal control standards, SDLC and departmental procedures including timely implementation of sustaining and project work
Lead the research of emerging technologies and proven methodologies; identify opportunities and make recommendations for the use of specific products, utilities, toolsets for the benefit of the systems and the team.
Qualifications Requirements
A minimum of eight years related experience with three to five years primary experience administering MS SQL Server environments. Prior experience with replication management required.
Specialized experience in programming or database languages and techniques for application system design; expertise in SQL programming and SSIS.
Expertise in working within a standard SDLC environment.
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining a high availability SQL Server solution.
Prior experience supporting BCP / DR initiatives, concepts and technologies.
Experience in evaluating new vendors and proactively managing vendor relationships.
Experience in a global high tech / software company highly preferred.
Prior experience supporting Microsoft .NET applications strongly preferred.
SSAS / Data Warehousing Experience a Plus
