This opening is for a database architect to join a high growth area of Industry Solutions. Enterprise Marketing Management is focused on marketing software for the Chief Marketing Officer, combining the strength of four recent acquisitions, Unica, Coremetrics, DemandTec and Tealeaf to deliver an end to end set of products.
Employees in this role will have the opportunity to define the product's database architecture, and describe how elements of the technologies interoperate in the solution/product architecture. Expertise in SQL, Warehousing, MPP (massively parallel processing) Databases, etc. will be critical in performing this role.
The database architect is responsible for defining the architecture roadmap in line with business unit strategy. They have analytical ability and creativity in anticipating technical trends, knowledge of leading-edge technology and industry in order to effectively participate and lead business unit and IBM Architectural Boards. They also keep the development community up-to-date about standards bodies and technologies that may be employed to create IBM's Enterprise Marketing Management solutions/products.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
-Partner with product management to negotiate database architecture goals vs technical tradeoffs and assess technical feasibly

-Perform code reviews and coach developers

-Understand the development lifecycle
Required
* Bachelor's Degree
* English: Intermediate
Preferred
* At least 10 years experience in SQL
* At least 5 years experience in Knowledge of database and warehousing technologies
* At least 5 years experience in MPP (massively parallel processing) Databases
* At least 5 years experience in High-volume data processing
* At least 5 years experience in Web analytics
* At least 1 year experience in Hadoop
* At least 2 years experience in Analytical Window Functions
