We’re actively recruiting for a Director of Data Product with broad data, reporting and audience experience that will help shape and lead efforts related to our data warehouse and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on product manager with experience working with multiple, disparate customers on very data focused projects. Making metrics and data available for business decisions is key to growing our business and we want you to help. Responsibilities:
Become a subject matter expert in all areas of the data platform and insights derived from it -including instrumentation, platform SLAs, reports (existing and upcoming) and analytics/insights
Produce product requirements and definitions including requirements documentation, project plan and deliverable dates for new features, enhancements and key initiatives.
Work with business and upper management to drive product direction across the platform including developing the platform roadmap that integrates with roadmaps from all business units, helping manage priorities and helping run sprint planning
Maintain expertise of competitor, market and technology trends and proactively adjust product direction accordingly.
Collaborate with media properties, ad sales, business development, finance/accounting, marketing, SEO, analytics, engineering and development to track and communicate ongoing progress to project priorities.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, dependencies, critical path and devise contingency plans.
Work closely with development and QA to prioritize product needs and produce timely product releases.
UAT reports to ensure they meet expectations before we hand off to the business
Mentor analytics team members to bring them up to speed with business data and insight needs
Requirements:
3 years of product management experience, in a data-intensive role involving data warehouse, reporting and analytics components. Web media and internet experience is a strong plus.
Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications
Experience organizing and prioritizing business deliverables between multiple customers
Experience with one or more of the major reporting platforms – Tableau is preferred
Experience with web analytic tools - Google Analytics is preferred
Self starter; entrepreneurially minded;
Must be a committed team player, able to work both independently and interact with executive management, and other staff members.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced environment.
BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Business or other quantitative field preferred or equivalent work experience.
