JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Restaurant andBar is part of the Global Operations (GO) department, which is known for takingideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents. Thisrole provides global operational leadership and consultation, within theRestaurant and Bar discipline, to design strategies to streamline and optimizeconcept design development processes and to maximize restaurant and baroperations success. The leader provides creativity, discipline expertise, andconnectivity to drive Food and Beverage (F&B) relevance and performancewhile ensuring best practice across the company\u2019s 30 brands and continents.
The Director has a passion forguest experiences and is responsible for the execution and development of aspecific set of products and/or services. This role is accountable forfacilitating the process of beverage program development and enhancement bycreating new platforms and services, including evolving existing products andconcepts. The Director collaborates with cross-functional project teams todesign new concepts and refine existing features to continually improveadoption and overall F&B initiatives and operations.
Key accountabilities include:review of F&B concepts and operations with key executives; partnering withbrand, discipline, continent and corporate sponsor to provide innovativesolutions to drive the restaurant and bar experience in support of strategicgrowth goals; leading collaborative product and service development, designingintegrity standards, and lessons learned; continually monitoring currentbusiness processes, making recommendations and implementing approved changes asrequired; mentoring F&B team members to facilitate professional growth.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required Education andExperience:

2- or 4- yeardegree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel andRestaurant Management, Culinary Science, or related major
3-5 years\u2019 workexperience (including project management experience) in the area of Restaurantand Bar; OR related work experience

Preferred

3 yearsprogressively responsible work experience in wide range of Bar and RestaurantOperations, including experience as a restaurant and bar leader managing aculturally diverse workforce
Prior experiencein regional, corporate, or multi-unit restaurant and bar operations
Knowledge onBeverage and Bar operations or a high level of interest
Respectedstanding within the hospitality industry
Solidunderstanding of F&B operations, products and techniques
Proven expertisein hands-on openings of hotel and independent restaurants and bars
Experiencereading and interpreting blueprints and floor plans
Ability toanalyze and react to trends across multiple hospitality disciplines and brands
Ability toachieve results against budget within scope of responsibility
Collaborativewith peers and partners to grow business relationships
Excellentproject/work management skills
Highly adaptablewith the ability to effectively adjust to changes in business priorities
Excellent verbalcommunication, written communication, analytical, problem-solving, andpresentation skills
Stronginterpersonal skills with multiple stakeholders (e.g. customers, owners, peers,associates, vendors, corporate)
Effectiveinfluence, negotiation, conflict management, and consensus building skills
Abilityto train (e.g. new programs/products/services, skill gaps on action plans)
Experienceusing programs and software such as Microsoft Office, InDesign, iBooks, Adobephoto shop and/or other presentation software

Researchestrends and competition. Conducts forward-thinking research to understand marketneeds and the F&B talent to remain competitive and to support and growcurrent and future projects.
Providesrobust concept development support for bespoke Restaurant and Bar across newand existing hotels.
Advisesand informs on Restaurant and Bar strategy and standards.
ProvidesF&B consulting to Discipline, Brands and Continents, as requested.
Togetherwith Continent, Brand and other GO leaders, establishes and ensures adherenceto core work processes that drive innovation and enhances branddifferentiation.
Leadsand directs creative F&B product and design projects.
Interactswith Department VPs, peer Directors and Brand Segment Leads to develop andaccomplish new initiatives.
Deliversand designs presentations internally and externally in support of program orstrategic development work.
Developsmethods and alternative methods for product distribution for products unique toeach Brand.
Identifiesindustry trends, and competitive situations and opportunities relevant toF&B.
Evaluatescreative approaches and develops solutions to complex creative issues that havecompelling value to the company.
Actsas the company\u2019s subject matter expert and provides input as needed on conceptdevelopment and Restaurant and Bar designs for all brands.
Domesticand International travel, as needed, to various meetings, openings, training,and events.

TalentManagement

Directsthe day to day activities of the team with GO and ensures the team meetsdefined objectives
Supportsdiscipline-specific talent process and platforms
Providesdiscipline knowledge and guidance to design team members
Partnerswith Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain the right people tosupport the strategic priorities of the GO organization. Ensure effectivestructures, processes, jobs, and performance management systems are in place.Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the LPP, alignsperformance and rewards, appropriately addresses performance issues and holdsstaff accountable for successful results
Championsleadership development and workforce planning priorities by assessing,selecting, retaining, and developing diverse, high-caliber talent that can leadthe organization today and strengthen leadership bench for the future;continues to upgrade talent, works with Human Resources to anticipate futuretalent needs based on business plans
