Director of Compliance
Duties: Provide expertise and assistance to the Chief Compliance Officer in building and implementing the University level compliance function. This position is designed to coordinate and support the work of the existing decentralized compliance units and to create a robust and coordinated institutional compliance network. Build collaborative relationships and establish regular communications processes with persons with operational compliance responsibilities (e.g., responsibility for compliance with Title IX, NCAA, and regulations relating to research) across the University. Ensure these units have compliance plans that include implementing and updating policies and procedures, conducting effective training and education, as well as conducting internal monitoring and auditing. Convene and direct the University Compliance Committee and its subcommittees. Supervise the work of the Associate Director for Policy Management and the Clery Program Manager. Create tools, including a compliance matrix, to depict, identify and monitor the various compliance obligations, including identifying the office responsible for each obligation, throughout the University. Identify and analyze data to improve effectiveness of the compliance program. Supervise and promote the use of the compliance hotline by faculty and staff to report perceived inappropriate activities and lack of compliance regarding federal law, state law, and University policies. Coordinate University-wide training needs with compliance partners to help ensure that the University community understands the compliance responsibilities relevant to their work. Promote the identity and services of the University Compliance Office through the development of the office website and other compliance initiatives. Coordinate or refer compliance concerns to appropriate University and campus administrators for investigation and resolution. Conduct special projects at the direction of the AVP for Compliance. Perform other duties as assigned.
