Tesla is seeking a highly-motivated, experienced engineer to lead the design and development of world class driveline technologies. This person will be tasked with helping Tesla reach and stay at the forefront of technology for wheel bearings, wheel hubs and axles.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Tesla is developing multiple vehicle platforms which require different wheel bearing and driveline architectures. As with every other system on the vehicle, we expect to separate ourselves from the rest of the automotive industry in terms of technical capabilities and development. The Driveline Engineer will:
Ensure that each platform has class-leading durability, efficiency, cost and mass.
Build partnerships with our suppliers and push the boundaries of what they are able to achieve
Create tools for improving the way Tesla simulates and tests the reliability and performance of the Driveline system

Skills and Experience:
Experience designing driveline components such as wheel bearings, hubs and/or CV joints
Proficiency with both Finite Element Analysis tools and other simulation tools like Matlab or Simulink
Proficiency with CAD (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) is a plus
Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
Experience with communication tools like Microsoft Powerpoint
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
3-5 years working in developing bearing and/or axle technology
