Dominion Hospital, the only freestanding mental health facility in Northern Virginia is seeking an Education Services Coordinator.The Education Services Department is responsible for providing an environment that supports the learning needs of our school-aged patients while they focus on their mental health needs. The Education Services Coordinator has two significant responsibilities: 1) to be the case manager for school-age patients and be in direct communication with schools and 2) oversee and manage the Learning Lab and all Learning Lab activities. Case Manager: \u00b7 Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with local public and private schools.\u00b7 Has strong oral and written communication skills.\u00b7 Communicates with schools to complete an initial education assessment, the final report and other education reports as needed. \u00b7 Demonstrates courtesy and respect in dealing with both internal and external customers.\u00b7 Demonstrates strong organizational skills and maintains records for each patient.\u00b7 Proficient in Microsoft Outlook. Learning Lab:\u00b7 Organizes and maintains the Learning Lab, including troubleshooting and maintain technology.\u00b7 Creates a curriculum to support the learning needs of patients during holidays and summer break.\u00b7 Establishes an environment which stimulates and motivates patient engagement in learning and maximizing their time on task. \u00b7 Defines and communicates behavioral expectations. Monitors behavior and provides appropriate feedback.\u00b7 Addresses patient inquiries, assists, as needed, and actively monitors and supports progress of patients working independently on school assignments.\u00b7 Recognizes and responds to the underlying processes of patients in a fair, non-judgmental, and supportive manner.\u00b7 Adheres to treatment goals established by the multi-disciplinary treatment team and communicate relevant information to other team members.\u00b7 Complies with hospital/departmental policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient rights.Qualification Requirements:Education: Bachelor\u2019s degree required Certifications: CPR-BLS for healthcare providers and CPI required to be completed as a part of the general hospital orientation Experience: Fundamental knowledge of public education and psychology Hours of Work:Monday \u2013 Friday 7:00am \u2013 3:30 pm or as directed by the Director of Education Services
