Electrical Controls Engineer - Grand Rapids, MI
Our client in Grand Rapids, MI, is looking for a Controls Engineer that has experience in the material handling and conveyor industries. You will be joining a team that supplies integrated logistics solutions to large and small companies throughout the world.
This is a direct hire position that requires international travel.
Job Duties
Programming Allen Bradley PLC**s for conveyor control
Controls hardware design, configuration, and implementation (assuring that designs and applications meet and/or exceed compliance with all codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL, CUL, CE and local/regional and federal regulations)
Controls software design, configuration, and implementation
HMI/SCADA design, configuration, and implementation
Order entry and procurement
System emulation
System commissioning
Maintain excellent relations with customers
Actively support internal divisions such as Lifetime Services, Product Development, Project Management, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, and others as assigned or requested
Travel 50-75% nationally and internationally to support project implementations
Essential Requirements
Experience with hardware and software applications for Allen Bradley, SIEMENS
and Modicon Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
Functional use and knowledge of critical design tools such as AutoCAD-E
Experience with the design and implementation of System PLC Code emulation
Experience with the design and implementation of multiple Bus Networks ** E-Net, E-Net IP, ProfiBus, CAN Bus, ASi Bus
Experience with the design and implementation and application of integrated motion controllers
Effectively plan and manage daily tasks with time critical awareness
Demonstrate excellent documentation and organizational skills
Effective written and spoken communication
Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Windows operating systems
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office including - Outlook, Excel, Word, Project.
Design and application knowledge of core controls automation platforms for hardware and software
Required Experience
Minimum of two years as an effective Controls Engineer
Four years design and implementation experience of complex controls systems for technologies such as conveyor, sortation and induction, motion controllers, SCADA, AS/RS and its respective peripheral technologies
