Oversight of a finance business partners organization to support a specific function with Entergy. This includes leading a team of financial analysts that will require daily interaction from various locations.
Perform financial analysis through the use of strong analytical skills by efficiently using knowledge of tools and business processes to identify financial related problems and develop appropriate solutions.
Activities will include monitoring and maintaining key financial processes including recording, forecasting and reporting financial information, as well as providing support to Entergy’s Finance department with controls as well as highlighting key issues and exposing items that may impact profitability. This position will be involved in process improvement projects, ad hoc reporting, analysts and financial modeling in support of business needs.
Lead and monitor a group of financial analysts in their duties
Provide process improvements and ensure the financial analysts have clear direction
Perform assignments requiring understanding and application of finance principles, practices, and concepts (i.e. financial analysis, budgeting, modeling, scenario analysis, etc.)
Clearly communicate results of financial analyses to management
Accept ownership of finance processes
Provide customer service to internal and external customers
Identify opportunities to re-engineer systems and processes to improve financial information
Provide leadership in a project or team environment
Create financial models as needed to evaluate information and be able to explain the results.
Create analyses and manipulates data as needed for analytical use in presentations.
Identify and performs necessary updates to models and related systems. Processes documentation ensuring model output remains accurate.
Communicate with other departments to gather information about Entergy’s businesses and transactions. Communicate with subject matter experts across the company to better understand the risk of certain projects and / or investments.
Work in collaboration with business units to assess industry/market trends, commodity pricing, regulatory strategies, and to prepare financial comparative data for use in decision making.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
Requires a college or university degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent work experience). Graduate degree (MBA or Masters in Finance or Accounting) highly desirable.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
5+ years, with financial lead roles highly desired
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED OF THE POSITION
Knowledge: Knowledge of GAAP, FERC and regulatory accounting. Skills: Interpersonal / leadership skills and ability to communicate externally and at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in PC Windows environment and ability to work with budget systems and financial models. Abilities: High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

CPA or CFA desirable
