Head of Internal Communications, Google Technical Services
As a member of the Internal Communications team, you will be part of a small team which produces employee communications and events for Google executives. You will work with members of your internal client team on communications initiatives, projects and programs. You will support the work of the team to create strategic communications campaigns, come up with innovative ways to engage employees that are in tune with Google's culture, write communications, business update presentations and talking points. You will also collaborate with internal partners as needed across functions (PR, Policy, Legal, HR, Operations, etc.) and geographies.
This central team supports internal communications, employee engagement and community building for the Google Technical Services organization. Our customers ― Google Technical Services Googlers ― are a diverse group given how many different functions and customers the Google Technical Services organization serves. We're also a large, global team. The communications team, in partnership with senior leadership and cross-functional partners, informs, connects and inspires the organization to keep doing amazing things for Google, our Googlers, and our customers.
As the Head of the Global Communications team in Google Technical Services, you will take the lead role in articulating the culture, brand and value proposition of an already large and growing organization within Google. You’ll be a steward of our organization culture; you’ll bring together diverse perspectives across teams and regions to champion and create opportunities for cross-organization connections that bust silos, build communities and foster “One Google Technical Services.” You’ll support the team in leading, designing, and executing uplifting, enlightening events that transform teams and bring their work and impact to life. Your role will require close collaboration with the VP leading Google Technical Services, the senior leadership team, other communication leads, and our key partners in People Operations.

Our team is the face of Google to most of our customers, and we want their Google support experience to set new standards, just like Google’s products do. Our team cares for customers by solving problems and scaling solutions, incubating new Google products, and sharing user feedback with internal teams to influence product development. We support a wide variety of products, from Ads to Project Fi and just about everything in between, and our customers include advertisers, consumers, partners, publishers, retailers, and our own Sales Googlers.
Distill the breadth of what Google Technical Services does into a crisp and compelling brand and vision
Deliver and execute on an organization-wide communications strategy, tied closely to both the organization's culture and business objectives
Represent Google Technical Services culture and communications as a member the organization's leadership team
Amplify the voice of Google Technical Services’ VP and the organization itself through internal and cross-Google communications
Manage and motivate a talented team of communications and employee engagement managers, and visual designers
BA/BS degree in Journalism, English Studies, Business Management or related field, or equivalent practical experience
12 years of relevant Communications experience
4 years of experience leading and managing a team
4 years of experience in high impact communications execution, including leading the communications program of a large organization
Change management experience in complex, fast changing organizations
Flair for creative communications including branding, content creation, events
Content creation and multimedia delivery capabilities
Ability to drive consensus across a diverse set of stakeholders, including senior leadership. Ability to train others in communications style and content
