Profile

NCARB’s Information Systems Directorate has an opening for a Help Desk Technician to provide user support and customer service on NCARB supported computer applications and platforms. This position is primarily responsible for problem determination, problem/incident recording, problem resolution, and problem escalation. The Help Desk Technician follows existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices and will document troubleshooting / installation / configuration steps for repetitive tasks within SOPs, how-to articles, and wiki topics.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for technology, a team spirit and customer service attitude.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
At least 2 years of related technical or help desk experience.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows XP and 7, Office 2007 and 2010 Suite, Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, and Exchange Server.
Experience with imaging software such as Acronis Backup and Recovery Workstation for deploying baseline images to workstations and laptops.
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
Superior customer service skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with wide-range of professionals with varying levels of technical knowledge.
Ability to understand technical /complicated items and then communicate to others with less technical knowledge.
Strong internal motivation and the ability to troubleshoot, manage, and document multiple tasks in a proactive manner.
Able and willing to learn and acquire new technical skills.
