This role is part of the 2-year Graduates Engaged in Accelerated Rotations (GEAR) program which allows recent college graduates the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while developing foundational skills on which to build a career on.
The HR GEAR Position will learn about and have exposure to multiple facets of the HR Function. The candidate will contribute to various Centers of Excellence (COE) within HR to assist them develop and roll-out key HR programs and will support the HR Communications team in executing the Global HR Communications strategy, including the change and implementation strategy for Workday a new HRIS system.
As a successful outcome of participating in the GEAR program (approx. 24 months) the incumbent should have a well-rounded foundation in HR, be well versed in Our People Strategy and be being able to clearly connect and articulate how HR brings value to the organization by executing against the strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
1.Assist in the strategic implementation of our change and communication plans for Workday by Q3 2017
2.Assist in the continuous evolution and maintenance of Corporate HR intranet site, HR Center, on OurCelgene as a viable impactful channel for digital communications.
3.Coordinate, execute and monitor all online content to ensure information is up to date and accurate. Become certified as master HR Online Content Administrator.
4.Design, maintain and help track the HR Communications editorial calendar.
5.Support HR Communications lead in the development of communication needs for HR COE's including preparing and disseminating communications that support the roll-out of Corporate Communications and HR Programs, organization announcements, Our People Strategy and the HR Value Proposition across the company, via intranet, email, and hard copy. Updating HR intranet/HR Connect sites.
6. As needed, provide project level support to HR COE's as way to learn and experience functions. Activities may include, updating tools and materials in preparation for program roll-out, participate in process mapping of HR Core processes such as on-boarding and off-boarding, conduct end-to-end recruitment for junior level HR positions, etc.)
7.Activities may include, updating HRIS system, maintaining workforce plan, tracking and supporting HR programs within the function.
The successful incumbent will be a responsible, thorough, detail-oriented recent college graduate with proficiency in written, verbal and digital communications and a strong interest in working in communications in a global Human Resources function.
B.A. degree in Healthcare Communications, Life Sciences, Human Resources, Public Relations or a related business discipline.
An understanding of the HR function and how the various centers of excellence operate and integrate with one another.
Creative and progressive, understands social and digital media and can provide forward looking recommendations on multiple channels and approaches for two way communications with employees and other key stakeholders
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to proofread and edit skills and the ability to organize key messages
Understands diverse audiences and can convey messages in a simple manner, keeping cultural sensitivities in mind.
Excellent attention to detail, proven time management skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Can provide strong examples of practical communications efforts and outcomes in college coursework, internships and any paid, professional work.
Proficiency with Microsoft products, Sharepoint, social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and others.
Experience with Workday is preferred and highly advantageous
