Job Description
Summary:
The Oracle Application Server Administrator is responsible for providing technical support for the Oracle E-Business Suite environments (Applications and Databases) for releases 11i & R12, as well as other Application Server environments supporting Oracle Forms and Reports.
The Administrator will configure and maintain the environments to ensure accuracy, availability, and acceptable response times; collaborate with application, development, and management teams to ensure projects comply with standards, meet expectations, and are delivered as scheduled; update and maintain documentation to ensure manageability and supportability.
Essential Duties:
1.
Problem Resolution:
(40%) Investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide resolution for Oracle Application Server and database related issues; Communicate and track problem findings, actions taken for immediate resolution, and suggestions to reduce reoccurrence; Participate in On-Call rotation to provide after-hours support.
2.
Administration:
(20%) Install, configure, deploy, and maintain Oracle Application software including E-Business Suite;
Monitor processes, backups, and activity to ensure availability, accessibility, recoverability, and optimal performance;
Evaluate and apply patches and fixes; Create, update, and maintain configuration documentation, deployment instructions, build standards and practices.
3.
Technical Development and Support
: (20%) Work with cross-functional teams to complete complex projects; Work with development teams to help optimize usage; Review and implement software change requests for fixes and enhancements; Create and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks.
4.
Planning:
(20%) Plan, test, and manage software deployments and upgrades in real-time, mission-critical operational environments; Perform capacity planning and server evaluation to anticipate growth and ensure adequate system resources.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
Five years of experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite 11i and R12.

Five years of experience supporting Oracle Application Server.
Five years of experience supporting Oracle Forms/Reports
Experience with rapid cloning and supporting multiple APPL_TOP environments.
Experience installing and maintaining Oracle software and patches.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization at the database, system, and application level.
Knowledge of replication solutions including Oracle Data Guard, and Materialized Views.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Strong UNIX scripting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience installing, configuring and supporting Oracle RDBMS.
§
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) / Grid Control.
§
Experience with Oracle Active Data Guard for providing real-time reporting database.
§
Knowledge of table partitioning and data archiving strategies.
