PeerSource is currently recruiting for an
IT Technician
on a
contract to hire
basis for our client in
Mountain Pass, CA.
Provide Tier1 and Tier2 support for all technology-related functions at Client’s Mountain Pass operations. Perform installations, maintenance and repair work on any/all computer related equipment, including laptops, desktops, communications equipment (digital & IP phones), tablets, smart phones, printers, local/wide area networks, etc. Position is located in Mountain Pass, California, approximately 50 miles southwest of Las Vegas NV.
Primary Responsibilities
Providing Tier1 Service Desk support to Client employees and contractors (e.g., password resets, adds/moves/changes processing, etc.)
Provide remote troubleshooting support using Microsoft System Center or other remote access tools.
Answer Service Des calls and emails, and log into issue tracking system.
Escalate issues to appropriate resources.
Build, configure and install laptops and desktops to company specs.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (switches, routers, cabling, etc)
Install, maintain and troubleshoot multi-function printer/copiers.
Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.
Stay current with system information, changes and updates.
Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.
Requirements
High school diploma required.
2 years’ hand’s on experience installing and troubleshooting PC’s, printers and peripherals.
2 years’ experience with Microsoft products (Windows 7, Office 2010, Exchange/Outlook)
Ability to work in a highly industrial physical environment required (mining and chemical processing facility).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license (for driving company vehicles on company property)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (PC equipment and peripherals)
A certification and/or CompTIA N certification a plus.
Must be willing to work non-standard hours after initial training (Sat/Sun and/or late weekday hours)
