The Timken Company is seeking an IE Group Leader for their Tyger River Plant in Union, South Carolina.
The IE Group Leader manages a team of analysts and technicians who are responsible for process routings, standard cost calculations, time studies, cost estimates for new products, GPDB, NPRs / NMPs directed at TRP, provide guidance/support to manufacturing operations related to product designs and industrial engineering standards.
The primary focus is to:
Design, improve, and install integrated systems involving people, materials, information systems, and equipment.
Analyze costs in order to implement cost reductions.
Reduce plant technical problems including: processing methods, standards, and sequencing; job quotation and cost estimating.
Primary results required:
Supervise analysts and technicians responsible for process routings, standards, cost estimates, and end-of-year cost system maintenance.
New business and new product quotations.
Cost analysis for managers and supervisors from labor, scrap, and rework reports.
Provide planning and direction for the successful manufacture of new product launches.
Maintain SAP product routings and standards that are in concert with one another and improve the accuracy of the cost information systems.
Coordinate special projects and orders (i.e. Carb Stock Reduction).
Initiate cost reduction efforts.
Ability to independently evaluate manufacturing production processes and recommend methods for improvement.
Ability to select and apply standard business applications (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and corporate systems).
Ability to use sound judgment in the completion of assigned projects, solve technical problems, and recommend product changes for Design for Manufacturability improvements.
Proficient with spreadsheets and database software (Excel and Access).
Bachelors of Science in a related field (Engineering, Business, etc) with 5 years of manufacturing process experience.
5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, in an IE role.
5 years of experience working in an engineering or mechanically related field.
2 years of SAP experience in an IE role, in a manufacturing environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance or Supply Chain.
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
5 years of experience in a metal working manufacturing environment.
Documented Lean Manufacturing training, with successful completion of projects generating plant savings.
3 to 5 years of SAP experience as an Industrial Engineer in a metal working manufacturing environment.
