Duties: Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, serves as Student Conduct Officer, Behavior Intervention Team Coordinator, campus Title IX Coordinator for the institution, and Student Affairs Compliance Officer. Ensures the institution’s compliance with all requirements of Title IX, Clery Act, Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA), and Drug Free Schools and Communities Act. Responsible for the resolution of all student complaints regarding violations of the UH student code of conduct. Develops, implements, and serves as the principal coordinator and investigator for Windward CC policies, procedures, and programs related to compliance with Title IX. Coordinates investigations involving students and/or employees to ensure timely response. Receives campus reports and complaints on discrimination and harassment (including sexual assault and sexual harassment). Conducts investigations involving students and/or employees and documents an effective response to such reports/complaints. Advises reporting parties of their rights and responsibilities in the due process. Notifies complainants of receipt of the complaint and respondents that complaint has been made. Resolves student conduct cases. Coordinates with the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs all documentation for conduct cases, hearings, and appeals. Investigates and makes administrative decisions for non-Title IX WCC student code of conduct cases. Maintains a case management plan for each reported student code of conduct violation and reported Title IX incidents. Collaborates with the campus Clery Act Compliance Officer to develop and update campus procedure and policy statements ensuring compliance with Title IX, Clery Act, and VAWA federal requirements related to the campus’ Annual Security Report. Develops, coordinates, tracks, and provides the delivery of campus-wide education, training, and outreach programming for students, faculty and staff related to Title IX and Clery Act requirements, as well as updates the campuses Title IX website. Develops and maintains program information, materials, brochures, posters, catalog sections, and other multimedia venues that enhance awareness of the student code of conduct, Title IX, Clery Act, and VAWA requirements. Coordinates training and monitors compliance for Deputy Title IX coordinators and provides collaboration and leadership to effectively manage all Title IX complaints for the institution. Ensures campus complies with federal requirements related to the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act. Serves as the Behavior Intervention & Threat Assessment Coordinator for the institution’s BITA Team. Ensures secure and confidential documentation of all cases reported to the institution’s BITA Team, as well as ensures the team meets on a regular basis. Provides recommendations to improve accessibility for students under the American’s with Disabilities Act. Researches availability of alternative media such as books in electronic or audio formats, software and hardware. Assists with the procurement of these resources. Provides student training in the use of a variety of assistive technology. Other duties as assigned.
