One of our Fortune 500 clients in Downtown Cleveland, OH is seeking a Java Developer / Analyst for a permanent position.
Position Responsibilities
The opening is in client's Merchandise Control department. The Merchandise Control departments core applications track the purchasing, receipt, payment, inventory valuation of products sold by PSG and Global stores.
This individual is responsible for analyzing, constructing, modifying, and testing complex business applications as specified by senior management. The position requires effective time and resource management ensuring that work is completed efficiently and assignments objectives are met.
This individual needs to identify and understand issues and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions and choosing appropriate solutions with the available facts, constraints, and awareness of probable consequences.
The incumbent needs to make significant contributions to efforts replacing legacy applications, while analyzing and implementing new functionality in existing systems meeting PSGs dynamic business needs .
Responsibilities also include production application documentation, turnover, support, and end user training. This position has no direct reports but may require taking on project management responsibilities.
Experience Required
The candidate needs a minimum of 5 years of IT experience. Hardware and operating systems environments must include Unix OS on server platforms, WEB, and IBM mainframe z/os. Programming and file/data base management systems proficiencies; PL/SQL, JAVA, Oracle or similar RDBMS, COBOL (jcl and cataloged procedures), IDMS or IMS,VSAM. This individual should have development and maintenance experience with accounting, general ledger, purchasing, or inventory related business applications.
Preferred Experience
2 years experience with JEE, JSP, JBOSS, Eclipse, EJB, Oracle 11g, Struts 2, Hibernate, AJAX, SQL Developer, XML, Jquery, CSS, 5, and Unix shell scripting. Solid understanding of relational database concepts and object oriented programming. Exposure to JAVA socket services, EDI concepts, and MQ. Proficient in Windows and Windows Office suite. IDMS ADSO.
