Duties: Provides education and direct advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence and potential complainants of sex discrimination. Provides education and training to students, faculty, and staff on sex discrimination and gender-based violence. Assists in drafting policy and procedures to prevent and address sex discrimination and gender-based violence. Counsels UHM students, faculty, and staff on sex discrimination and gender-based violence under UHM policies and procedures. Under the Direction of the Gender Equity Specialist, provides case management to complainants of sex discrimination and/or gender based violence, which includes acting as a liaison between victim and on and off campus resources. Assists complainants with grievance formal and informal procedures and processes. Consults UHM faculty and staff on best practices to prevent, educate, and address sex discrimination and gender-based violence. Collects data on reported incidences of sex discrimination. Compile data for inclusion in the annual reports, Clery requests, and other federal or state mandates. Collaborates with UHM students, faculty, staff, and organizations/task forces to address sex discrimination and gender-based violence. Collaborate switch community organizations to address sex discrimination and gender-based violence on campus and in the larger community. Under the direction of the Gender Equity Specialist, provides training and workshops to UHM students, faculty, and staff on UHM policies and procedures on sex discrimination and gender-based violence. Assists in policy and procedural development to ensure that UHM is in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations on sex discrimination and gender-based violence.
