Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Accounting
The candidate must have either an MBA (or other appropriate graduate degree) and hold a professional accounting designation recognized in the province of Ontario or in an equivalent jurisdiction, CPA and/or CFA preferred, or hold or be very near completion of a doctorate in accounting and hold a professional accounting designation. Must have the appropriate background to teach, at the undergraduate and Master’s level, in at least two of the fields of: financial accounting and reporting, taxation, auditing, business valuation, and managerial accounting. Familiarity with the CPA program of training and skill at applying distributed and face-to-face learning technology would be an asset. Judgment regarding “potential” to excel in teaching and industry liaison will dominate the decision process for choosing from among qualified candidates without a doctoral degree while judgments regarding potential to excel in teaching and research will dominate in the case of those applying with a doctorate.
