Comprehensive Health Management
Under general supervision by the Logistics Support Supervisor or Lead, the Logistics Technician is an entry level position with a work history in any of the following fields: Supply Chain Management, Property Management, Inventory Control, Procurement, and Transportation (of Goods).
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.
This position is for the night shift, 6PM – 6:30AM
Comprehensive Health Services Inc. (CHSi) is assisting in the humanitarian crisis caused by Hurricane Harvey by supporting a disaster relief shelter in Port Arthur, TX. This shelter will house a large number of evacuees who have been displaced by Hurricane Harvey and subsequent flooding.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with implementation of inventory processes that meets the needs of the evacuees in the facility
Assists with the coordination of inventory and resupply with the Logistics Manager or Lead
Follows all procedures for supply distribution
Ensures evacuees are receiving their correct amount of supplies as needed and in a timely fashion
Ensures FEMA policies and procedures are followed at all times
Maintains communication with Dormitory Workers and Intake team
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year of relevant experience in warehousing, administrative and procurement activities or equivalent education and experience
Clean criminal background check
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products
Immediate, last-minute travel within the U.S. may be required if located outside of shelter location
This is a night shift position with working hours from 6:00pm to 6:30am
Flexibility is required due to potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
Bilingual skillset (English/Spanish)
Training in the U.S. Army in Medical Logistics or the equivalent or documented service in a similar military logistics organization
May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs
Visual acuity required to complete paperwork and computer work
Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of staff activities
Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with weather (rain, lightning, and winds)
