The Mobile Maintenance Manager directs multi-craft employees to safely
execute breakdown, downturn, and routine repairs for the operating departments
to help them reach their availability and efficiency objectives as follows:
Supervise several maintenance employees in areas of safety (maintaining safety as the #1 priority) and meet the objectives of the Middletown Works Safety and Health Plan. Maintenance Supervisor will ensure employees follow the rules and take corrective actions to ensure that these practices are followed.
Supervise a group of multi-crafted maintenance employees to repair equipment failures and to ensure the department a minimal operating loss. Hold employees accountable for attendance. Ensure correct hourly employee payment on work orders, break-ins, and delays per the DMP (Daily Maintenance Plan).
Assist in planning of downturn, breakdown, and routine repairs. Utilize computer program to print/review pre-plans, LOTOS (Lock Out Try-Outs) and job assignments in order to properly document procedures.
Recommend safe and cost effective repairs to requesting departments. Problem-solve and provide corrective actions for maintenance issues as required.
The incumbent has to provide and exercise their skills safely, to determine equipment failures and to make quality repairs of operating departments work order requests.
Take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
Ensure all work assigned to the Mobile Maintenance crew under direction is complete and meets the requirements of the operating department. The Maintenance Supervisor is to implement necessary actions to see work completed in a safe and timely manner while meeting man-hour and cost objectives.
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
This position requires an individual with job knowledge in operations, problem solving and good communication skills.
Must possess the ability to work well with and motivate people, interact
with operating department supervisors and have a great initiative to reach the
goals that are set.
Motivation to learn many facets of the dynamic steel making operations.
Must be able to meet rotating and/or overtime scheduling requirements.
Engineering and/or mechanical repair experience is an advantage.
Blueprint reading and the ability to converse with machinists and/or
department inspectors is advisable.
