We are currently searching for a Manager , Affiliate Relations and Marketing for the Network Distribution department to further affiliate partnerships by speaking to General Managers, Sales Managers, Creative Service Directors and Programming personnel weekly. In this role you will identify actionable opportunities and effectuate change on a local market basis in all areas of the television station to achieve maximum value for The CW Network and affiliate partner. You will help enforce contractual obligations and promote network value and objectives, as well as create, develop and maintain local sales and marketing promotions.
What part will you play?
Serve as the primary contact (relations and/or marketing) to smaller market affiliates in DMAs ranked 100-200.
Provide day-to-day direction and informative communication on network matters to General Managers, Sales Managers Creative Service Directors and Programming personnel. Ability to report/discuss key communication points with entire team.
Create and deliver full network presentations to stations covering programming, sales and marketing initiatives via webex or in person.
Monitor and enforce affiliation agreements as it pertains to promotion, contractual off-air media obligations and cross promotion in assigned DMA's. Resolves any matters that may arise.
Monitor promo reports weekly to ensure station and duopoly partner are in compliance with network standards. Resolves issues, as needed.
Analyze, negotiate and communicate preemptions and make-goods in assigned DMAs.
Travel, as necessary, to attend affiliate related meetings/events. Ensures the Network's interests are represented.
What do we require from you?
BA/BS degree preferred.
5 years broadcast television, network affiliate (local sales or marketing) and/or digital streaming service experience preferred.
Must have understanding of the broadcast affiliate business model and monetization as well as local broadcast television advertising sales acumen.
Media planning experience; knowledge of cooperative advertising preferred.
Current perspective of challenges facing broadcast television general managers.
Ability to converse parallel to all station personnel.
Proven track record of formulation, execution and completion of creative local revenue generating marketing programs.
Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills a must.
PC based information systems knowledge required. Microsoft Office knowledge required.
