DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for managing a team of Unix/Linux/Solaris/Hadoop engineers.
Be a technical hands-on manager responsible for thousands of systems that run high-volume and business critical applications.
Will be responsible for managing crisis, incidents and also proactive efforts to prevent failures on Unix Servers, Load balancers and Virtual servers.
Will be expected to be savvy on taking care of the tactical needs along with applying strategic thought process to long term remediation.
Responsible for driving automation and tooling on a consistent basis.
Should be willing to play the role of a Senior Systems Engineer with advanced systems administration skills.
Capable of driving initiatives with the Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams as needed, to attain high availability and reliability on the server stack.
Capable of demonstrating good people management skills and has a passion to grow and guide team members to help them with their career path.

Excellent analysis, design, and problem-solving skills for Unix OS, load balancer tier, Windows and Virtual servers.
Effective communication skills are a must.
Candidate should have excellent crisis management and incident management skills.
Candidate should be comfortable in working under high pressure situations when the systems and components are in an unstable state.
Good experience building highly-automated framework for systems management.
Experience with Hadoop and open source software is a big plus.
Advanced knowledge of operating system internals, file system structures, and machine architectures in a UNIX/Linux environments is a must.
Excellent knowledge of Unix, Windows, VCS, Load balancers, Mail, DNS, TCP/IP and SAN technologies.
Advanced level scripting in Perl or Python or Ruby or advanced shell scripting is a must.
Experience in technologies that are core to large and distributed systems like cloud computing, web services, map reduce frameworks, multi-tier serving architectures etc. is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
8 years of hands on Systems Engineering or Systems Admininstration experience.
4 years of technical management experience.
Someone who has managed a Command and Control Center, supporing a large network of servers in various locations, maintaining nearly 100% uptime, with a positive demeanor, excellent people management skills, excellent communications skills and strong technical knowledge.
