Bering Straits Technical Services (BSTS) is seeking a Master Electrician (DBA) to work depending on availablity of contracts received. Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains tools and maintenance equipment in good working order.
Will be responsible for assisting the Task Order Manager with preparing estimates for new Task Order Requests pertaining to electrical scope of work.
Will be responsible for ordering correct electrical components to complete task orders.
Will be installing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment, including overhead door operators, equipment controls and low voltage controls and lighting systems as well as electrical rough in and trim out for other trades as required.
Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, and other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment as part of the testing requirements for newly installed electrical components and systems.
Must know working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment; and using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Perform other related duties as required. Must also have knowledge and understanding of current NEC.

Job Requirements :
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
State Certified Journeymen Electrician License.
Five (5) years relevant work experience, and able to work independently.
Valid State driver’s License with no major infractions.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance, granted interim clearance within 90 days of employment.
Preferred:
Associates Degree in similar field.
Ten years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of acceptable electrical services and occupational safety and health regulations.
Skillfully determine kind of tools and equipment needed to complete each project.
Ability to speak, read and write clearly in English
Ability to work as part of a dedicated team of professional in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and supervise electrical crew as needed.
Ability to coordinate electrical work with other construction trades.

Injury exposure could be minor cuts and bruises; considerable physical effort of hands and arms required.

This position requires driving and working out of doors in extreme heat/ cold and possibly rainy weather and be able to work shifts if needed. Physical stamina and strength in all of its forms (endurance, temperature/ climate, stress, etc) is necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Crew of electricians/helpers as required to complete projects.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
