Nautica Merchandise Planner
There is an immediate opening for a Merchandise Planner on the Nautica Planning team in our Jersey City, NJ office. This role will aid in the analysis and accurate preparation of sales, inventory, and promotional plans based on historical data, buyer input, and trend analysis.
Create financial plans on a seasonal basis, inclusive of sales, inventory, receipts, markdowns, and gross margin. These include key item and season code planning.
Develop monthly forecast at the week level for Monthly Forecast Review Meetings; updating the forecast based on group’s input.
Analyze sales and margin results, inventory flow, and assist merchants in developing both short and long-term merchandise strategies.
Develop Season Code Plans to assist in developing the receipt plan by season code.
Plan and forecast all basic styles utilizing basic buy plans and ensure those plans are incorporated into the overall plans and forecast. Provide receipts to production on these items.
Effectively manages inventory in-season through promotional and mark down cadence by participating in weekly meetings with their cross functional team.
Assist in determining appropriate store count, sku count by store and inventory levels by store.
Years of Related Professional Experience: 3-5
Bachelor’s degree. Additional extended education and/or equivalent work experience would be a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in classification planning by unit and dollar volume in the retail and/or direct marketing industry preferably within a specialty business that is national in scope
Excellent computer skills including, advanced proficiency in Excel required.
Interpersonal and team building skills to build relationships with merchants and foster a teamwork approach.
Ability to make decisions with limited information
Creative problem solving skills.
